Variable Scoop is an evaluation firm who assist groups who bring about transformational change by analyzing their efforts and building strategic plans to maximize their efforts.
The mission.
The mission of Variable Scoop is to evaluate the results of a particular program, their clients include governments, non-profits, and small businesses. As such it was extremely important to the client that the site include imagery that was inclusive of as many groups as possible. To accomplish this, we tasked our illustrator with creating as many different looks as possible while keeping them all in the same brand.
Variable Scoop’s clients are also located all around the world, keeping their clients in central Africa and South East Asia one of the most important factors is to consider those clients internet speed. Variable Scoop needed to be the fastest loading website Digital Dog has ever built able to load quickly on a throttled 3g connection in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

Building the concept.
One of Variable Scoop’s biggest request was that Digital Dogs’ designers not use any imagery of real people and that the project needed to have an “uplifting feel to it”. Our designers set about creating a series of illustrations that directly followed Variable Scoops core values of teamwork and inclusion. Color schemes where largely inspired by the flags of the countries Variable Scoop operates in.
Impressive result.
Through extensive illustration and wireframe iterations we delivered a comprehensive solution that is light-years ahead of the competition. Keeping in mind one of the paramount project goals, delivering a lightweight webpage that will be easily accessed regardless of location of internet speed.
